PrizePicks and Polymarket Enter Multi-Year Partnership Amid Rising Scrutiny in Prediction Markets

PrizePicks has secured a multi-year partnership with Polymarket, aiming to integrate regulated event contracts into its upcoming prediction markets platform.

This collaboration will enable users of the PrizePicks app to trade on a variety of outcomes across sports, entertainment, and cultural events, marking a significant expansion beyond traditional daily fantasy sports.

The partnership is a crucial step for Polymarket as it seeks to re-enter the US market while promoting prediction markets as a viable product.

Mike Ybarra, CEO of PrizePicks, noted that this integration would enrich the customer experience by providing innovative ways to engage with live events. Similarly, Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan emphasized that the partnership demonstrates how prediction markets can thrive alongside established sports platforms in a compliant and engaging format.

While the exact timeline for launching the prediction markets is still unclear, some reports suggest that Polymarket is planning to make its US comeback by the end of November.

A massive year for PrizePicks

This year has proven to be monumental for PrizePicks, marked by significant strides in regulatory advancements and partnerships.

The company’s recognition as the first fantasy sports operator registered as a Futures Commission Merchant with the National Futures Association has allowed it to offer federally approved derivatives contracts via licensed exchanges like Polymarket. This designation allows it to explore a broader range of products in regulated markets.

Furthermore, PrizePics has reinforced its commitment to responsible gaming by receiving iCAP accreditation from the National Council on Problem Gambling. This certification underscores it dedication to upholding high standards in player protection.

In conjunction with these developments, Polymarket has secured a strategic investment of up to $2 billion from Intercontinental Exchange and completed the acquisition of QCEX, setting the stage for its own expansion.

Additionally, Allwyn’s recent $1.5 billion financing round, which includes substantial loans to fund its planned acquisition of PrizePicks, emphasizes the financial backing behind these initiatives. Allwyn aims to acquire approximately 62.3% of PrizePicks, with the deal anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2026, contingent on regulatory approvals.
