A major integrated resort project in Manila’s Entertainment City has taken on a new name and a new operating structure as it moves closer to completion. The former LET X development will now be known as Westside Resort, reflecting the latest shift in control and branding for the US$1.25 billion project.
New Name Follows Change In Control
The decision to rename the property comes after a change of control late last year, when Travellers International Hotel Group, operator of Newport World Resorts, and its parent firm Alliance Global Group secured a majority stake in the development. They took over from Suntrust Resort Developers Inc, which remains tied to Hong Kong’s LET Group as a 51 percent shareholder. Under a strategic working agreement designed to ensure the resort could be finished within a reasonable timeframe, the parties created a fresh operating vehicle to oversee the project.
That entity, Entertainment City Resorts Corporation (ECRC), has been established as the new operating company for the former LET X integrated resort. The structure of ECRC and its shareholders marks a reset in how the development is being managed and who ultimately controls the direction of the project.
Ownership Structure And Operating Control
ECRC is 50 percent owned by Alliance Global Group, giving the conglomerate a direct stake in the new operating platform. The other half sits with a new entity, Westside Bayshore Holding Corporation (WBHC). In this new entity, Travellers holds 60 percent, thus becoming the majority shareholder, while Suntrust holds the remaining 40 percent. Taken together, this structure leaves Alliance Global Group and Travellers with a combined 80 percent interest in the project.
Under this setup, Travellers has also been designated to assume operational control of the integrated resort once it is complete. That means the company behind Newport World Resorts will ultimately run day-to-day operations at Westside Resort, from gaming and hospitality to entertainment offerings, once the property opens its doors in Entertainment City.
Pushing Toward A 3Q26 Completion Target
The group has made a post on Friday to affirm that the ECRC has taken formal control of the project’s management and to unveil the new name for the Westside Resort. The post also remains true to the scheduled target for the project’s completion, which is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. The target has been emphasized more following the setbacks experienced earlier under the previous setup.
The changes to the name and the new setup for the project’s management are described as the beginning of a new chapter for the project as it is designed to provide a premier experience for the entertainment and hospitality industry in the heart of the Entertainment City. The emphasis was on signaling continuity of the project’s ambitions despite the change in ownership and operating arrangements.
Commitment To Westside Resort’s Future
In addition to the new name, the management has attempted to calm the nerves of the stakeholders about the direction of the project. The commitment to quality remains strong despite the change in management structure. The group has shown enthusiasm about welcoming Westside Resort visitors, business associates, and new employees in the near future.
For now, the focus is on executing the remaining stages of development under ECRC’s stewardship and meeting the 3Q26 completion target. With Westside Resort now carrying a fresh identity and a clarified ownership structure dominated by Alliance Global Group and Travellers, the integrated resort moves into its next chapter within Manila’s competitive Entertainment City precinct.
