Walker Digital Partners with BurraPay to Bring Crypto Payments to Smart Tables

Walker Digital Table Systems, or WDTS, has announced a partnership with cryptocurrency payment solutions provider BurraPay to integrate BurraPay’s crypto payment technology into the WDTS gaming table platform.

The agreement will make WDTS the first table games management platform to offer BurraPay’s Direct-to-Device, or D2D, crypto payment technology to its casino customers, according to a joint statement from the two companies. WDTS technology is currently deployed on more than 5,000 gaming tables across Asia, Australia, and North America.

Stephen Moore, CEO of WDTS, said the company is excited to be the first table games system to integrate with what he described as a transformative solution in casino payments.

Moore said WDTS has always been committed to leading the industry with innovative solutions for managing the table games ecosystem. He added that BurraPay’s platform, which enables the compliant use of cryptocurrency to fund a customer’s wagering account, is a strong complement to the company’s existing suite of offerings.

Crypto Payments Built for Compliance

BurraPay said its patented crypto payment platform was specifically engineered to meet the rigorous compliance standards demanded by US gaming regulators.

The company said this compliance barrier has until now kept cryptocurrency entirely out of the licensed casino ecosystem. BurraPay’s D2D technology allows players to fund their gaming device, whether a slot machine, gaming terminal, or connected gaming table, directly with cryptocurrency almost immediately.

The aim is to eliminate trips to the cage or cashier and to remove the lengthy wait times normally associated with cryptocurrency payments. The company explained that all required anti-money laundering, or AML, compliance checks occur swiftly and seamlessly behind the scenes.

BurraPay offers both a fully embedded platform that integrates directly with casino player account management systems in land-based, iGaming, and online sportsbook environments, and an over-the-counter solution developed for rapid deployment in land-based casino environments.

Luke Millanta, co-founder and chief technology officer of BurraPay, said the integration agreement enables BurraPay to deploy its crypto payment platform throughout WDTS’s international casino customer network. Millanta said this gives players the option to fund their table game wagering account with cryptocurrency at the gaming table in a compliant and secure way. He added that the solution helps operators attract crypto-native players while giving existing players a fast and convenient new way to fund their accounts, which he described as a win-win for operators and players alike.

Demonstrations Planned at G2E

The two companies said they will offer scheduled demonstrations of the integrated solution at WDTS’s Las Vegas headquarters during next week’s G2E trade show.

The event is scheduled to run from September 29 to October 1. The demonstrations are intended to showcase how BurraPay’s crypto payment technology works within the WDTS smart table platform.

WDTS said the integration aligns with its strategy to provide innovative solutions for the management of the table games ecosystem. BurraPay stated that the partnership will help them achieve their objective of providing compliant crypto payment methods within the licensed casino setting. The two businesses highlighted that the integration is meant to enhance the experience of players through reduced waiting time and facilitation of fund transfers to betting accounts.

At the same time, the product is expected to assist the operators in compliance with regulations while providing more payment options to customers. The G2E demonstrations will allow casino operators and industry participants to see the technology in action before wider deployment.

WDTS and BurraPay said they expect the integration to be of interest to operators seeking to modernize payment options at table games. The partnership marks a step toward broader adoption of cryptocurrency payments in the casino sector, subject to regulatory approval and operator demand.
