SVT will showcase its live software build for remote production workflows at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, with Vindral technology included as part of the presentation at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) stand 10.D21.
The demonstration will offer the international broadcast industry a look at how SVT is applying software-led production to change the way major live events are produced, managed and delivered.
Software-Led Approach to Remote Production
The live software build was introduced as part of SVT’s broader transformation of its remote production operations. It has been developed to create more flexible, cost-efficient and accessible workflows while reducing dependence on specialist engineering and traditional hardware-heavy infrastructure.
Vindral technology forms part of the production ecosystem. Vindral Composer provides real-time compositing, audio processing and graphics capabilities, while Vindral Live supports low-latency contribution feeds and delivery throughout the wider production chain.
Vindral Live Multiviewer is also used to enable simultaneous monitoring of multiple channels within the production environment.
System Tested During Milano Cortina Winter Games
SVT put the system to the test during the Milano Cortina Winter Games, providing a significant proof point for the technology due to both the scale and visibility of the event.
The Games also marked their return to SVT after a 14-year absence.
SVT has since applied the approach across several large-scale events, with the production method now becoming a recurring part of its broadcast plans moving forward.
Daniel Alinder, CEO at Vindral, said:
“SVT’s live software build is one of the clearest examples of software-defined remote production being used in a real, high-pressure broadcast environment.
For public service broadcasters in particular, the ability to reduce operational cost while maintaining broadcast quality can expand what is possible across sports, live events and other coverage areas. IBC is an important opportunity for SVT to show that story to the wider broadcast industry, and we are proud that Vindral technology forms part of the workflow being presented.”
Dennis Buhr, Head of Digital Transformation, Production Technology and Workflow at SVT, added:
“This is about changing the way we think about production, not just replacing one technical setup with another. Our ambition has always been to create an environment that gives production teams more flexibility, makes advanced tools easier to access, and allows us to work more efficiently across locations across the world.
That kind of transformation depends on the right technology partners. Working with Vindral and like-minded teams has helped us continue developing a modern production model that supports high-quality live coverage while giving our teams the control, accessibility and adaptability they need.”
