Sweepstakes casino operator VGW is gearing up to relaunch its offerings with the introduction of two new platforms, with LuckyLand Casino and United Slots, as it shifts its focus away from more than a dozen states.
As VGW prepares to launch these new sites, it is anticipated that the popular LuckyLand Slots casino may be discontinued. This platform is one of the three active sites under VGW, alongside Chumba Casino and Global Poker.
LuckyLand Casino now live
VGW has officially launched LuckyLand Casino, marking a significant expansion of its existing LuckyLand ecosystem. According to comments made to Sweepsy, the new platform, housed at luckylandcasino.com, is now operational.
While it currently offers limited information, pre-registration options are available, suggesting that a full launch is on the horizon. The terms of service were uploaded on November 24, and social media accounts for the casino are active, albeit with minimal content so far.
Details about the games available on the new site remain uncertain. However, VGW has indicated that players can expect to find instant win games, as well as classic table games like blackjack, roulette, and baccarat.
The platform is also set to include social live casino experiences such as Quantum Roulette and Spin a Win, along with Playtech’s Adventures Beyond Wonderland.
Operating under the Malta Gaming Authority license (MGA/B2C/188/2010), VGW can offer a variety of game types, including bingo and peer-to-peer options. The license encompasses a wide range of game providers for all VGW sites, such as Playtech, Relax Gaming, Swintt, and others. However, it has yet to be confirmed which specific providers will supply games for LuckyLand Casino.
The end of LuckyLand Slots?
VGW has initiated discussions regarding the future of its existing LuckyLand Slots platform, which debuted in 2018 following an acquisition.
In a recent statement, the company noted,
“VGW is considering its options for LuckyLand Slots, which was launched in 2018 following an acquisition. While no decisions have been made as yet, VGW is committed to full transparency with LuckyLand Slots players and providing any relevant updates over time. VGW constantly reviews its portfolio to ensure its brands retain both their industry-leading appeal and consumer protections.”
The introduction of LuckyLand Casino has sparked speculation about the fate of LuckyLand Slots. VGW explained that opting for “Casino” in the new platform’s name instead of “Slots” signals “an enhanced, broader experience for players seeking a wide range of free-to-play games and features.”
Interestingly, LuckyLand Slots has vanished from the Malta Gaming Authority’s “Dynamic Seal of Authorisation,” while LuckyLand Casino is now listed there.
United Slots on the way
Alongside the launch of LuckyLand Casino, VGW has started preparing for another new platform: United Slots. The company submitted a US trademark application for UNITED SLOTS on November 12, and this brand is included among the domains registered under VGW’s Malta license.
While the site is operational, it currently lacks terms and conditions and pre-registration options, suggesting that United Slots will debut after LuckyLand Casino. The simultaneous development of these two platforms indicates that VGW is aiming for a broader multi-brand sweepstakes strategy, which could involve replacing or consolidating elements of its existing offerings.
This approach mirrors trends seen with competitors like B2Services and A1 Development, who successfully manage multiple platforms.
Sweepstakes scrutiny continues to affect VGW operations
VGW’s expansion with dual platforms comes at a time when the company is facing significant challenges in the US.
VGW decided to withdraw Sweeps Play from West Virginia and is implementing a similar phased exit strategy in Tennessee. As a result, the company’s platforms will be inactive in 13 states, including eight states from which VGW plans to exit by the end of 2025.
Further complicating matters, VGW is experiencing regulatory pressures in states like Maryland and Minnesota, which could further restrict its presence.
Additionally, California’s recent ban on sweepstakes casinos, set to take effect on January 1, 2026, poses a considerable threat, as this state contributes a substantial share of revenue within the sector.
This increasingly challenging regulatory environment is reshaping the landscape for sweepstakes casinos, compelling operators like VGW to rethink their product offerings, licensing frameworks, and strategies for long-term sustainability in the U.S. market.
