Ukraine’s gambling regulator has fined SLOTS U.A. LLC, the operator behind BetKing Casino, more than ₴432,000 ($10,000) for failing to provide requested information on time.
PlayCity announced the penalty in a statement posted on its Telegram channel, stressing that “prompt and complete provision of information is the duty of gambling organizers and an important condition for the transparent operation of the gambling market.”
BetKing, which was previously known as Slotoking, operates under a sportsbook permit granted in Kyiv in late 2024. The company also runs the 777 brand through Slots UA. Regulators said the fine was tied to delays in meeting official requests, highlighting the importance of compliance in maintaining trust and transparency in Ukraine’s gambling sector.
PlayCity launches player complaint platform, results already showing
Last week, PlayCity rolled out a new online system that lets citizens quickly flag illegal gambling ads without the usual paperwork. The tool, available on the regulator’s website, allows users to select where the ad appeared, whether on social media, websites, television, radio, or outdoor spaces, and then upload links, screenshots, or videos through a short form.
Once submitted, the evidence is stored automatically, and complainants receive email updates as the case progresses. Special attention was given to fast‑disappearing content like social media stories; if a link is included, the system downloads it immediately so investigators can review it even after it vanishes.
The platform is already producing results. Today, PlayCity confirmed on its Telegram channel that a Twitch account was blocked after streams promoting illegal gambling were reported through the tool. The regulator’s team checked the channel and passed the findings to Twitch, which removed the account within a week.
This outcome highlights PlayCity’s growing cooperation with major digital platforms, including Meta, YouTube, Google, and Viber, to ensure illegal advertising is quickly identified and taken down.
9-Year Anti-Gambling Addiction Strategy rolled out
Ukraine has begun public consultations on a long‑term plan to tackle gambling addiction, with a draft order from the Cabinet of Ministers now open for discussion. The Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the proposal, which sets out a state policy strategy running until 2035.
The plan aims to reduce the negative impact of gambling, prevent addiction, and protect those harmed by excessive play, along with their families.
The draft also includes an operational action plan covering 2027 to 2029, designed to coordinate the work of government agencies and other stakeholders. Officials say the strategy focuses on lowering social, economic, and medical risks linked to gambling while ensuring transparency in how the industry operates.
Stakeholders have until May 18, 2026, to submit feedback on the proposal.
