Stake.com Accidentally Sends Incorrect Bonus Email to Over 20 Million Users

Stake.com users were met with confusion yesterday after the company accidentally sent out an incorrect bonus email to more than 20 million customers. The email, intended only for a small and specific group of users, reached a far wider audience earlier in the day due to what Stake.com has described as an issue with its email system.

Hours later, the company addressed the situation publicly in its official Telegram channel, confirming that the earlier bonus message had been sent in error.

Clarification Arrives Through Telegram

In the Telegram post, Stake.com told players that the promotional email was not meant for them and urged everyone to disregard it. The company stressed that the incorrect bonuslink had been circulated unintentionally and was not part of any actual promotion available to the general user base.

Players were also asked not to contact customer support, as support teams are unable to assist with matters related to the mistaken email. This suggests the operator was expecting a wave of enquiries once users realised the email had been sent on such a massive scale.

Was It a Fat-Finger Incident?

Although Stake.com did not provide technical details, the nature of the mishap has led to speculation about whether this might have been a fat-finger error — a simple but costly misclick, such as selecting “all users” instead of a targeted segment, or accidentally pushing a test message live.

In highly automated systems used by large gambling platforms, mistakes like selecting the wrong audience or loading the wrong template can trigger immediate, large-scale email distribution. With more than 20 million recipients affected, a user segmentation error is seen as one of the most plausible explanations, even though Stake.com has not confirmed this.

Weekly Bonus to Be Increased

To calm frustration and maintain goodwill, Stake.com announced in the same Telegram message that this Saturday’s weekly bonus will be increased. No specific details have been shared, but the enhancement appears intended as a gesture to compensate for the confusion caused.

Stake.com Apologises

The company ended its Telegram clarification with an apology, saying it “sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused.”

Large-scale promotional mix-ups are rare for operators the size of Stake.com, particularly given how tightly controlled bonus systems typically are. Although the company has not commented on whether internal changes will follow, incidents of this scale usually prompt a review of automation settings and communication workflows.

Despite the widespread nature of the error, most users seem to be taking the situation calmly — and many are now more interested in the promised boosted weekly bonus than the email mishap that sparked it.
