The gambling industry in Peru is further solidifying its commitment to responsible gaming by developing structured training and awareness campaigns. This is being spearheaded by Sociedad Nacional de Juegos de Azar, commonly known as SONAJA. Their main goal is to prevent problem gaming and ensure that gaming is conducted in a safe environment.
In line with this, SONAJA has been conducting training sessions all over Peru, targeting gaming operators, employees, the general public, and all those associated with gaming. These training sessions are meant to improve early detection and prevention of problem gaming.
Growing Reach and Participation
The success of these training sessions has been increasing over the past two years. In 2024, SONAJA was able to train 562 people. However, in 2025, this number had increased to 683. This is a clear indication of the industry’s commitment to this cause and the increasing demand for gaming-related education and awareness.
In the near future, SONAJA is planning to further increase its reach. They have scheduled a series of training sessions that will be conducted all over Peru in the current and next year. These training sessions will be conducted in conjunction with the Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo, commonly known as MINCETUR.
