Gambling Regulator Orders Immediate Shutdown
Rwanda’s gambling regulator has suspended the operations of Baron Sports Gaming Ltd, better known as Forzza, after concluding that the company repeatedly offered gambling products beyond the limits of its licence.
The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) announced the decision in a public notice issued on 30 July. The suspension took effect immediately, forcing the operator to stop all activity across its betting shops, online platforms and agent network.
Regulators found that Forzza had been offering casino-style games despite not holding approval to provide those products. The RDB determined that the repeated conduct breached Rwanda’s gaming regulations, prompting immediate enforcement.
The company has also been instructed to remove all advertising and promotional material linked to its operations while the suspension remains in force.
Public Warned to Avoid Forzza
The regulator urged customers not to take part in any games or betting activities offered by Forzza until further notice. It also made clear that any continued operation during the suspension would be treated as unlawful and could trigger additional enforcement measures.
Warning to the Wider Industry
The action sends a clear message to Rwanda’s licensed gambling sector that regulatory approval extends only to the activities specifically authorised under each licence.
The RDB stressed that operators are expected to stay within those limits at all times. Offering unapproved gambling products, or carrying out any unauthorised gaming activity, can result in significant penalties, including the permanent loss of a gambling licence.
