Rivalry Corp. has paused player activity and sharply reduced operations as its board looks for a path out of choppy results and ongoing financial pressure.
The Toronto-based online betting and gaming operator said on February 13, 2026, that its board approved a significant reduction in operating activity while it evaluates strategic alternatives. Rivalry confirmed player activity has been suspended on its platform, while withdrawals continue in the ordinary course.
They explicitly blamed “recent performance volatility.”
This is not just a routine “review.” Rivalry tied the move directly to recent performance swings, while acknowledging it is already in discussions with third parties about potential transactions.
However, in light of recent performance volatility, the board has determined to materially reduce the scale of operations while assessing whether a strategic transaction or other alternative can be advanced, the company said.
Recent financials show the company was still losing money
The company’s filings showed it was still operating under pressure. In its Q3 2025 reporting, Rivalry posted CA$1.93 million in net revenue and a CA$1.96 million net loss, despite pointing to major year-on-year reductions in operating expenses.
The company’s language points to a basic reality: it is trying to reduce burn and preserve runway while it tests whether a deal is achievable. Rivalry also cautioned that there is no guarantee any outcome will materialise, saying there can be no assurance any strategic alternative will be completed or that operations will continue in their current form. The company said it will only provide further updates if developments become material.
