iGaming.com Group, the international digital media group whose portfolio combines its own editorial brands with information, comparison and guidance platforms for sports betting and casino players, has added a Spanish sports newsroom to that portfolio. Relevo, the sports outlet launched in 2022, publishes at Relevo.com as part of the group. The deal covered the brand, the domain, the archive and the social accounts that go with them.
The move places the group alongside other comparison and affiliate operators that have extended into owned editorial media, among them Gambling.com Group, which changed its corporate identity to Grandstand in July to reflect a business that had grown past affiliate marketing. What sets this one apart is the asset acquired: a sports newsroom filing daily reporting under its own name rather than a comparison property, in a market where discovery for licensed operators runs through tightly regulated channels.
A different structure from the previous project
iGaming.com Group works across multiple markets and employs nearly 300 professionals. Relevo draws on its capabilities in digital publishing, technology, data and operations, while responsibility for editorial decisions sits with the newsroom, the group said. Vocento, which ran the previous project until its closure in 2025, holds no ownership interest and no editorial role.
“Spain is an important long-term market for iGaming.com Group, and Relevo gives us the opportunity to invest in an established Spanish media brand with a strong editorial identity and an existing relationship with sports audiences,” said Andreas Ditsche, CEO of iGaming.com Group.
Betting content restricted to Spanish licensees
Alongside its journalism, Relevo publishes selected sports-betting content for adult readers. The site runs Relevo’s comparison of betting sites in Spain together with responsible-gambling guides, all of it limited to companies that appear on the DGOJ’s register of licensed operators, with affiliate links clearly disclosed where they appear. Commercial relationships do not influence editorial ratings or recommendations, and operators cannot pay for preferential placement.
That segment is also the one Spanish regulators have been reshaping: a Royal Decree approved in June introduced a joint deposit limit applying across all licensed online operators, one of several player-protection measures the market has absorbed this year.
A first full season inside the group
The coverage is football first, then basketball, cycling, motorsport and the major international events. The output is original reporting that explains what lies behind each result, the approach that made Relevo one of the more recognisable voices in Spanish digital sports journalism in its first years. This season, 2026-27, is Relevo’s first major editorial cycle inside iGaming.com Group, and the editors have set out their approach to the project in a letter from the editor published on the site.
