Mike Quigley has left his role as chief marketing officer at PrizePicks after serving for a year, having joined the company in February 2025.
In a LinkedIn post confirming his decision, he recalled being energized by “the opportunity to help scale one of the most innovative and disruptive companies in Daily Fantasy Sports – and to help expand into emerging areas like Prediction Markets.” He described the category as “dynamic, competitive, and evolving in real time.”
Looking back on his time at PrizePicks, Quigley highlighted achievements such as broadening the brand’s reach, building out its creator and influencer ecosystem, and securing major league partnerships with MLB and soon the NBA. He wrote, “Most importantly, I’m grateful for the people – smart, resilient, passionate operators who show up every day ready to compete.”
He also thanked CEO Mike Ybarra, co-founder Adam Wexler, and co-founder and CTO Jay Deuskar for the chance to contribute to what he called the company’s “sky rocketing journey.”
Quigley noted that PrizePicks remains well positioned for growth and said he will continue to support the team from the sidelines: “cheering the team on as they continue to build and put up more wins in this exciting space.” He pointed to highlights from his tenure, including campaigns around the NBA, MLB, and NFL, as well as the launch of prediction markets through partnerships with Polymarket and Kalshi.
PrizePicks focuses on prediction markets
Quigley’s exit comes just as PrizePicks confirmed it will leave Canada to concentrate fully on the United States.
The operator announced the decision on March 3, with deposits for new fantasy lineups stopping on March 10 and a complete shutdown scheduled for April 3. Canadian players have until April 2 to withdraw funds before all contests close.
The company explained that its attention is now “hyper‑focused” on U.S. growth. PrizePicks is live in all 50 states, though the products vary depending on local rules. Its paid Player Picks contests, once available in Canada outside Ontario, are now offered in 36 states following New York’s recent approval of a DFS license.
Since then, the expansion has continued. PrizePicks has since partnered with Polymarket to add event contracts across sports, entertainment, and cultural moments, and later the same month teamed up with Kalshi to launch prediction markets covering entertainment and cultural events nationwide. Sports‑focused Team Picks, including spreads and totals, are now available in 35 states.
This rapid growth has been reinforced by a major investment. In January, global lottery giant Allwyn acquired a majority stake in PrizePicks for $1.53 billion, valuing the company at about $2.5 billion.
The combination of new partnerships, regulatory approvals, and fresh capital has positioned PrizePicks to push deeper into prediction markets while narrowing its focus to the U.S.
