Prize Draw Operator Winvia Debut on London Stock Exchange’s AIM, Shares Jump 11.5%

Winvia Entertainment, a UK-focused prize draw operator, has officially begun trading on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM after raising £40 million ($52.5 million) in its initial public offering (IPO). The company’s shares surged by 11.5% on their debut, reflecting strong investor interest.

Trading under the ticker symbol WVIA, Winvia entered AIM, a sub-market designed for smaller and high-growth companies, which offers more regulatory flexibility compared to the primary market.

At launch, Winvia boasted a market capitalization of around £205 million. Company directors indicated that the funds raised will support their growth strategy, particularly as they aim to capitalize on opportunities within the fragmented UK prize draw market.

The LSE filing released on Monday showed that Winvia intends to use the “roll-up” strategy, which involves acquiring and merging several smaller companies within the industry to create a larger, consolidated entity.

Improving brand equity and awareness

Winvia believes that its recent listing will significantly enhance brand equity and awareness, as well as build trust among customers and stakeholders. The company indicated that becoming a publicly listed entity would bring added “discipline and structure” to its operations.

Founded in 2024 through the merger of Crowd Entertainment and its subsidiaries, Winvia operates in both the UK and Romania, focusing on prize draws, skill games, and iGaming.

Among its notable brands is its popular ‘Dream Car’ competition, and it recently expanded its portfolio by adding Click Competitions in early 2025. In Romania, Winvia manages the Princess Casino and Luck.com iGaming brands.

In addition to its game offerings, Winvia provides a suite of supporting technologies that it describes as the “backbone of the business.” These include proprietary platforms and tech solutions delivered to partners through B2B arrangements, further solidifying its position in the market.

Listing key to next phase of growth

Mihai Manoila, CEO of Winvia, expressed his enthusiasm for the company’s listing, describing it as a defining moment in its journey and a crucial step in its growth strategy. He highlighted the success of the business, stating:

“We’ve built a profitable technology-led business across two dynamic markets. Listing provides the visibility and momentum to accelerate our next phase of growth.

“I’d like to thank our team and investors for their confidence and support.”

Manoila leads a team of seasoned executives at Winvia, many of whom bring extensive experience to their roles. His background includes key leadership positions focused on product innovation, technology, user acquisition, and customer experience.

The senior team also features CFO David Perry, who previously spent 14 years at Deloitte London and served as chief corporate officer at Games Global. Additionally, Jo Bucci, the former managing director of People’s Postcode Lottery and chair of the Lotteries Council, brings her expertise to Winvia as the non-executive chair.

UK prize draw market continue to face scrutiny

The UK prize draw sector is under increasing scrutiny from the traditional lottery industry.

Earlier this year, Baroness Fiona Twycross, the minister of state for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, announced plans for a voluntary code aimed at operators of prize draws and competitions. This initiative comes in response to calls from lottery stakeholders who want a unified regulatory framework across the sector.

Under this proposed voluntary code, prize draw operators will not be required to obtain a license from the Gambling Commission, which raises questions about regulatory oversight.

In a related development, Jumbo Interactive made headlines in October by acquiring Dream Car Giveaways (DCG), a digital prize draw platform focused on the UK market. This acquisition marks Jumbo’s entry into the UK prize draw sector. Shortly after, the company also agreed to purchase Dream Giveaway USA, expanding its reach into the US prize draw market as well.
