Pennsylvania sets new record with $251.1m iGaming revenue in October

October was a landmark month for Pennsylvania, closing with $251.1 million in adjusted gross iGaming revenue according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

It was not just another strong report. It was a month that reshaped the competitive landscape of US online gaming and pushed Pennsylvania into new historical territory.

A month that moved the market forward

Pennsylvania joined Michigan and New Jersey in rewriting the record books.

The state’s 32.8 per cent year-over-year increase pushed it beyond the previous monthly high of $238.2 million, set earlier this year. It also became the third US market to clear $250 million AGR in a single month, aligning with performances reported by Michigan and New Jersey.

Before promotional deductions, Pennsylvania’s operators generated nearly $310 million in gross revenue, lifting the state into another milestone: the first jurisdiction to break the $300 million threshold. For comparison, October 2024 sat more than 27 per cent below this mark.

The pace is so strong that Pennsylvania’s iGaming licensees have already exceeded their full-year 2024 totals with two months of reporting left.

Slots anchor the momentum

Online slots delivered their twelfth straight month above the $200m mark.

Digital slot play has become Pennsylvania’s engine. October produced $252.2 million in gross slot revenue, setting a new all-time high and outperforming last year by 28 per cent. Adjusted revenue rose to $190.8 million, another record, and a 35.4 per cent increase.

Year-to-date slot performance tells the larger story. Gross slot revenue reached $2.29 billion, more than $170 million ahead of 2024’s full-year total. Adjusted slot revenue followed a similar path, hitting $1.73 billion, up 35.1 per cent.

Table games and poker add to a historic month

Players wagered a record $3.16 billion across table games.

October saw new highs beyond slots. Table game wagering climbed to $3.16 billion, producing $57.7 million in house winnings, a 25.7 per cent jump from October 2024 and the highest figure recorded in the state.

Online poker delivered steady gains, with rake up 13.6 per cent to $2.5 million, keeping pace with Pennsylvania’s 2025 monthly averages.

Penn Entertainment edges closer to a groundbreaking threshold

The platform generated $120.8 million in gross revenue.

Penn Entertainment, tethering DraftKings and BetMGM, is within reach of becoming the first licensee to hit $100 million in AGR in a single month. October brought Penn its strongest result yet, with $120.8 million in gross revenue, up 33.3 per cent year-over-year.

Slots drove much of the momentum, producing $92.5 million gross. Table games contributed $27.7 million, and poker added $660,241, combining for $98.7 million in taxable winnings. With $861.6 million AGR through ten months, Penn is tracking toward $1 billion for the year.

FanDuel Casino and Valley Forge stay firmly in the race

Valley Forge posted $92.2 million in gross revenue.

FanDuel Casino, operating under Valley Forge, recorded $92.2 million in gross revenue, setting another personal best. Taxable winnings reached $71.4 million, while year-over-year comparisons showed 40.6 per cent growth in gross revenue and 37.5 per cent in adjusted revenue.

Valley Forge now sits $180.1 million away from the $1 billion annual gross revenue mark entering November.

Steady growth continues for BetRivers and Harrah’s Philadelphia

Multiple platforms hit record highs across the state.

BetRivers finished just short of its AGR record, landing $393,600 below its March peak. Its $364.3 million year-to-date AGR is 17.7 per cent higher than last year.

Harrah’s Philadelphia delivered one of the most striking performances of the month. Revenue reached $13.5 million, up 79.6 per cent year-over-year, while gross winnings hit $17.5 million, with both verticals setting new highs.

Across operators, October demonstrated the continued strength of Pennsylvania’s digital gaming ecosystem, with sustained growth across slots, tables, and poker.

As Pennsylvania enters the final stretch of 2025, how will operators evolve their strategies in a market that continues to break its own records month after month?
