Paradise City is collaborating with Lotte Duty Free as an initiative towards increased tourism inflow through the targeting of Chinese tourists. In this collaboration, there is a blend of accommodation, shopping, and entertainment services in order to enhance the presence of the companies among foreign customers.
Tourism Partnership
This partnership aims to enhance the relationship between the country’s biggest integrated resort and the top retailer in order to build a more cohesive travel and retail environment. The Paradise City, the flagship integrated resort of Paradise Co., is situated close to the Incheon International Airport and runs as a casino resort exclusive for foreigners.
According to The Korea Times, the 2 companies have entered into an agreement which will result in the development of an integrated system incorporating accommodation, shopping, and entertainment under one umbrella. This partnership would also help them to share consumer information as well as marketing channels, thus helping them engage with overseas consumers.
Membership and Marketing
The collaboration involves linking the memberships and luxury perks enjoyed by Paradise City with those provided by Lotte Duty Free. These include selective bonuses such as increased perks, package offers, and unique shopping opportunities.
The companies also plan to roll out joint marketing campaigns through Lotte Duty Free’s global online platforms and offline retail network. That approach is meant to widen customer reach and make the partnership more visible across different channels.
The agreement comes as Lotte Duty Free resumes operations at Incheon International Airport after a 3-year break. The reopening is part of broader efforts to rebuild the retailer’s international customer base, while Paradise City is also adding capacity through the reopening of the Hyatt Regency Incheon.
Focus On China
The partnership is expected to make use of Lotte Duty Free’s 2.5 million foreign members, which should help improve access to the Chinese market. Chinese travelers remain the main focus of the new arrangement, with South Korea increasingly viewed as an alternative destination for outbound visitors from China.
That shift is taking place against the backdrop of ongoing China–Japan tensions, which have affected travel flows between the 2 countries. For Paradise City and Lotte Duty Free, the timing creates an opportunity to position their combined offering toward travelers who may be looking at other destinations in the region.
The partnership is also being shaped by Paradise City’s own operating capacity. With the Hyatt Regency Incheon back in service, the resort is better placed to handle higher visitor volumes as it works to support more arrivals and stronger tourist activity.
Revenue and Demand
According to the latest quarterly report of Paradise Co., the parent company of Paradise City, the sales in the company’s casinos reached KRW229.67 billion ($152.3 million) during Q1 2026. The annual growth rates were up by 1.8%. The income from table games increased by 1.0%, while slot machines showed higher results (+14.9%).
These statistics clearly illustrate that despite some problems, the resort is operating quite steadily and continues working on promoting its image as an important tourist destination for gamblers.
Wider Growth Plan
For both companies, the MOU signals a greater effort towards integrating their offerings to generate more foreign tourists. Paradise City has the resort and casino offering, while Lotte Duty Free has the retail and membership component.
The agreement places greater emphasis on coordinated marketing and customer engagement, with Chinese tourists seen as the main opportunity. As South Korea continues to position itself for regional travel demand, the partnership gives both companies a clearer route to expanding their reach.
