Novig has relaunched as a sports‑focused prediction market, rolling out its federally regulated exchange across most of the United States.
The move comes just weeks after the company secured registration as a designated contract market with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in June. On August 4, Novig announced that its platform now operates “nationwide,” offering features such as instant live trading, parlay options, multiple payment methods, and a new Novig Ranks leaderboard.
Jacob Fortinsky co-founder and CEO said the company has built “the best place to trade sports” and set a new standard for prediction markets. ““Federal regulation was always the destination, even when it was the longer, harder road. It’s surreal to actually be here … This is the beginning of a new chapter for Novig: a federally regulated prediction market built for sports,” he added on X.
While the launch was described as nationwide, Novig’s own site makes clear that access is restricted in Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada.
Those three states have taken legal action against prediction market operators, seeking to block sports event contracts. For users elsewhere, Novig is available to anyone aged 21 and older, marking its broadest expansion yet.
Warrington to lead as Novig secures historic Mets deal
Novig’s push to establish itself as a national prediction market has been matched by a series of senior appointments.
In June, the company brought in Elie Mishory, formerly Kalshi’s Chief Regulatory Officer and a one‑time Special Counsel at the CFTC, to oversee regulatory and legal affairs. More recently, Co‑Founder Jacob Fortinsky announced that Adam Warrington, who previously led responsible gambling efforts at FanDuel and Underdog, has joined as Senior Vice President of External Affairs.
Fortinsky praised Warrington’s experience, saying, “Adam has spent years building protections inside the sportsbook model. He knows better than anyone where it falls short, and what it takes to build something fundamentally better.”
The leadership changes came alongside a major partnership with Major League Baseball’s New York Mets. Novig revealed last week that it had become the team’s exclusive official prediction market partner, the first deal of its kind between an MLB franchise and a platform in this space.
The multi‑year agreement will give Novig visibility across Citi Field, Mets broadcasts, and digital campaigns. The company has already struck other sports partnerships, including a branding deal with LIV Golf.
