Newport World Resorts Records Increased Gaming Income and Profit in 2025

Travellers International Hotel Group Inc, the operator of Manila’s Newport World Resorts, reported stronger results in 2025, with both gaming revenue and profit rising even as other Entertainment City operators faced pressure. The company’s performance was supported by higher net gaming revenue and lower financial charges, helping offset a decline in hotel and other income.

Stronger Gaming Results

Travellers recorded a total income of Php31.9 billion ($532 million) in 2025, supported by a growth of 4% in gambling income to Php24.2 billion ($563 million). The company’s attributable profit was up 21%, reaching Php1.5 billion ($25.0 million), with the reduction in financial costs serving as another reason for this outcome.

The above growth was made against the backdrop of an industry-wide slowdown on account of declining tourist numbers from South Korea and China. Travellers’ results therefore stood out within a sector that had been facing clear headwinds. The company’s figures formed part of parent company Alliance Global Group’s FY25 results, which were released on Tuesday.

Hotel Revenue Softens

As gaming revenue grew, Travellers’ other sources of revenue fell by 4%, to Php7.6 billion ($127 million). According to the company, the decline was due to a high base effect, meaning that the prior period had been performing well. Even with the fall, the rise in gaming revenue was sufficient to contribute positively to its growth.

Similarly, EBITDA rose by 7% during the quarter, reaching Php9.0 billion ($150 million). The result added another sign that Newport World Resorts was able to maintain momentum in its core operations despite softness in some other areas of the business.

Alliance Global Growth

Looking at Alliance Global Group, the company’s consolidated net income in 2025 hit a record of Php30.6 billion ($510 million), representing a 10% growth from Php27.9 billion ($465 million) in the previous year. Consolidated revenue in the period stood at Php189.7 billion ($3.16 billion). Attributable profit rose 19% year-on-year to Php20.7 billion ($345 million).

The figures showed that the group’s businesses delivered a broad improvement over the year. Travellers was one part of that performance, but Alliance Global also drew support from its other major interests. The group said the overall result reflected a combination of operating strength and improved profitability across several segments.

Management Comments

AGI chief executive Kevin Tan said the group delivered another strong financial and operating performance in 2025 despite macroeconomic headwinds. He added that most of the company’s businesses outperformed peer levels, particularly in the office, retail residential, and leisure and hospitality segments.

Tan also said profitability was supported by conscious cost efficiency measures, which the group intends to continue applying across the business. The year was highlighted by the group’s continued emphasis on improvement despite dealing with difficult circumstances.

In his statement, the company awaits 2026 with cautious optimism; nevertheless, some projects already implemented show how much the company values excellence. It was noted also that the team plans to achieve a balanced approach by both taking preemptive actions and responding appropriately to certain geopolitical and macroeconomic trends.

Bigger Business Base

In addition to Travellers, the diversified interests of Alliance Global involve the development of real estate via Megaworld Corporation, spirits production via Emperador Inc, ownership of Philippines McDonald’s franchises via Golden Arches Development Corporation, and infrastructure development via Infracorp. Collectively, these ventures formed part of the group’s impressive portfolio in 2025, resulting in an excellent outcome for the year.

As for Travellers, the year saw an increase in gaming revenue, EBITDA, and attributable profit. Against a difficult backdrop for parts of the wider casino market, Newport World Resorts remained one of the group’s brighter performers.
