New Jersey Gaming Revenue tops $581.6m in June as Digital Channels Surge

New Jersey’s gaming industry just posted a total revenue of $581.6 million for June 2025, marking an impressive 18.4% year‑on‑year increase. The figures show land‑based casinos holding steady, while iGaming and sports betting lead the growth surge.

Land‑based casino revenue holds ground

Land‑based casinos generated $259 million, up 6.1% from June 2024. Digging deeper, the breakdown shows:

  • Slot machine win slipped by 0.7% to $182.8 million
  • Table game revenue surged 26.9% to $76.2 million

This shift suggests players are increasingly favouring table games over traditional slot play. This move hints at changing player preferences, potentially driven by the social experience or higher payouts at tables. It’s a pattern worth watching as operators adapt their in‑floor layouts.

Casino operators on the move

Breaking down the figures by property gives a clearer picture:

  • Borgata took the lead with $76.7 million, up 19.4%
  • Ocean Casino followed with $43.5 million, increasing 30.1%
  • Caesars generated $20.5 million, a solid 7.4% rise
  • Hard Rock Atlantic City lagged slightly, down 5.5% to $45.8 million

The overall picture is one of stable land‑based performance, with standout success from operators that are blending traditional casino experience with strong digital offerings.

iGaming continues hot streak

The online casino sector posted $230.7 million in revenue, marking a 23.5% growth year‑on‑year. The lion’s share of this came from “other authorised games”—mainly slots and virtual tables, bringing in $228 million. Peer‑to‑peer gaming, including poker, contributed $2.7 million to the monthly total.

Top performers in the online space include:

  • FanDuel: $53.3 million, up 48.2%
  • DraftKings: $43.6 million, up 6.3%
  • BetMGM: $30.2 million, up 35.3%
  • Borgata online: $20 million, up 12.3%
  • Caesars Palace digital: $16.9 million, up 49.2%
  • Hard Rock Bet: $13.5 million, up 40.3%

FanDuel continues to lead the iGaming vertical, but it’s clear the field is strong and competition is heating up.

Online sports betting is taking dominance

Sports wagering revenues reached $91.9 million, a significant 52.9% jump year‑on‑year. Remarkably, $91.2 million of that came from online channels; in contrast, retail sportsbook revenues dropped 48.5% to just $600,000.

Here’s a faster look at the top performers:

  • FanDuel: $35.8 million, up 22.9%
  • DraftKings: $24.3 million, up 69.2%
  • Fanatics: $12 million, a massive 571.3% surge

Total sports betting handle in June hit $790.4 million, with $755 million wagered online. For the year‑to‑date New Jersey reports over $6 billion in total handle and $558.2 million in revenue, reflecting a 9.2% average hold rate.

Seasonality and comparison with May

May 2025 still stands as New Jersey’s strongest month with $614.7 million total revenue. That saw iGaming rise 28.5%, sports betting up 30.2% and casino revenue climb 10.9%.

While June’s figures are slightly lower, they remain strong and indicate seasonal moderation rather than a slowdown. Digital channels are clearly becoming more reliable engines of growth.

What it all means

June’s results reinforce three clear trends:

  1. iGaming and online sports wagering are the growth engines of the New Jersey gaming market.
  2. Physical casinos are steady, but players are shifting preferences—table games are gaining ground while slot momentum softens.
  3. Operators with strong omni‑channel strategies are winning. Integrating land‑based and online products appears key to capturing the full spectrum of player spend.

Looking ahead to Q3, the market will focus on maintaining player engagement, refining technical integration, and rolling out new digital products. The upcoming NFL season and regulatory developments will also be in the spotlight, especially with innovations in iGaming, potential live in‑game betting, and upcoming legislative proposals around deposit limits or new licenses.

With digital verticals leading the pack, New Jersey remains one of North America’s most dynamic and closely watched gaming markets. The broader industry will be watching closely to see whether operators can continue riding this wave into the second half of 2025.
