The promoter behind “Mirage by MGM,” a high-profile luxury hotel project near the Hong Kong border, has announced that trial operations are expected to begin by the end of 2026. The property is already being pegged as a key piece in the puzzle of the fast-developing Qianhai district, and it stands out for the big name attached: MGM, the same group with deep roots in Las Vegas.
What Mirage by MGM Will Offer
The development, set just 18 kilometers from Hong Kong’s boundary, is moving forward under the guidance of China Lesso Group Holdings Ltd. Details released by the company point toward a true premium experience. The hotel’s design and branding are being handled by Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality, a joint venture that brings together international flavor with local know-how.
With 370 rooms in the pipeline, Mirage by MGM is aiming for the upscale market. The hotel will provide a series of upscale amenities, such as high-end dining, entertainment areas, and design elements that pay homage to the glamour of Las Vegas but integrate perfectly into Shenzhen’s new role as a technology and finance center.
A Strategic Play for Qianhai
Qianhai, on its part, is among South China’s most happening new regions. Government support and investment in infrastructure have witnessed the district flourish into a hub for international capital and innovative development.
