An innovative partnership between the Paraná State Lottery and the Paraná Housing Company will change the lives of hundreds of families. This coming January 8th, Lottopar transferred R$10 million to Cohapar, strengthening its mission regarding the reinvestment of revenue derived from gaming into vital public needs.
These funds come from fixed concession fees granted to licensed operators of lottery and gaming modalities in the state. Rather than remaining within the operational ambit, the proceeds are being diverted to social infrastructure prominently, housing. The contribution will help 500 low-income families purchase their first home through the Casa Fácil Paraná Program, one of the state’s main affordable housing programs.
Supporting Families Through Targeted Housing Subsidies
The transfer of R$10 million is more than a financial transaction; it offers a real and immediate way for families to become owners. The resource will be used to subsidize the entrance of the eligible buyers, with R$20,000 for each family. The subsidy will be credited directly into the financing contracts processed via Caixa Econômica Federal, reducing the initial financial barrier that usually prevents lower-income families from buying a house.
Casa Fácil Paraná was also created under the notion of inclusion: it supports developments in municipalities of all sizes, ranging from small towns to the state capital, and gives priority to projects serving families with lower incomes. This helps the program stay in line with the greater public mission of decreasing disparities and enhancing the quality of life for all individuals throughout the state.
Leadership reinforces the importance of the initiative
Daniel Romanowski, President of b, underscored the concrete impact that the initiative had: “These resources will serve as the down payment for Cohapar’s housing financing and are foreseen to benefit 500 families“, he said, underlining the practical added value of devoting revenue derived from gaming to basic social needs.
Cohapar President Jorge Lange added, underlining the need for cooperation among state institutions: “This agreement reinforces the State Government’s commitment to helping those families in dire need and turning homeownership into reality to improve living standards in Paraná“, Lange said.
Their aligned views emphasize one thing: the goal of translating financial mechanisms into real, substantive improvements for the population.
Eligibility criteria for beneficiaries
The subsidy, via the Casa Fácil Paraná Program, is only accessible to those applicants who meet certain criteria that are put in place to guarantee fairness and properly allocate such resources:
Not own any residential property.
Not have previously benefited from other government housing programs.
Have no credit restrictions.
Have sufficient income to qualify for the chosen financing, with monthly payments limited to 30% of total household income.
Hold a valid registration with Cohapar, created or updated within the last two years.
These requirements ensure that the resources are channeled well to families in need, yet financially ready to sustain homeownership for a long period.
