LeoVegas Group, the Swedish online gaming operator with a strong presence in Brazil, has announced a historic partnership via its official LinkedIn page: “The Tiger sportsbook is now live on BetMGM Brazil!” BetMGM Brazil is the gaming operator that resulted from the partnership between MGM Resorts International and Grupo Globo – Mídia e Conteúdo, a move that combines international gaming knowledge with unparalleled local media presence.
Through this deal, Tiger will be responsible for providing the sportsbook offering for BetMGM Brazil just in time for the beginning of the Brazilian football league. According to the announcement from LeoVegas Group, through this deal, “customers will be able to enjoy a superior and seamless experience, with gamified bonus features, innovative functionalities, and an advanced BetBuilder.”
LeoVegas Strengthens Its Technological Independence
Adriana Vella, CPTO of LeoVegas Group, explained the significance of this deal for LeoVegas Group: “The launch of our proprietary sportsbook Tiger on BetMGM Brazil marks a historic moment for LeoVegas Group. We have always believed in controlling our own technological destiny, and now we have managed to launch our sportsbook in two major online gaming markets in just a few months.”
This statement highlights the long-term vision of LeoVegas to be able to control its own technological stack, which enables the company to grow faster and adapt its product to different markets without having to depend on third-party sportsbook providers.
Vella also emphasized the timing of the agreement in a year of significant sporting events: “As we look ahead to an incredibly exciting year for sports, with the World Cup among the key milestones, we look forward to seeing BetMGM Brazil players enjoy the benefits of a faster product, new functionality, an expanded product offering, and an improved user experience.”
BetMGM’s Entry Into Brazil and the Role of Grupo Globo
The agreement follows BetMGM’s entry into Brazil in 2025, when MGM Resorts entered the newly regulated market under the BetMGM brand. This marked the entry of MGM’s worldwide gaming and entertainment experience into a market that is generally regarded as one of the most promising in the world.
At the time, Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and President of MGM Resorts, discussed the strategic significance of entering the Brazilian market: “MGM Resorts is dedicated to becoming the world’s leading gaming entertainment company, and this strategic partnership with Grupo Globo and entry into the Brazilian market mark a historic moment and a major milestone on our growth plan.”
He also emphasized the significance of the new partnership: “Brazil is one of the most exciting and dynamic emerging gaming markets in the world, and no one has greater reach and understanding of the local market than Grupo Globo. This historic partnership enables us to enter the market quickly with the scale and expertise necessary to position ourselves from the outset as a major player and provide the best possible experience for customers across Brazil.”
Technology, Scale, and Timing Converge
The integration of Tiger into BetMGM Brazil is more than just a technical implementation. It is a sign of how the global gaming operators and technology companies are coming together to seize the opportunities in the newly regulated markets.
With the upcoming domestic football season and international sporting calendar in play, the timing is opportune for both LeoVegas and BetMGM Brazil to leverage the heightened interest and demonstrate their sportsbook offering focused on performance, innovation, and user experience.
