Gaming revenues in the Argentine province of La Pampa fell by 8.2% in the second quarter of 2025, according to official data published by the Instituto de Seguridad Social (ISS) in the Boletín Oficial. Despite the decline, the totals remain higher than for the same period in 2024, demonstrating the complex balance of macro-economic pressures and steady participation in the local gaming sector.
Quarterly Decline Amid Economic Contraction
The combined revenues of Casino Provincial, Loto, Quini 6, and Telekino reached ARS 1.029 billion (USD 694,479) between April and June 2025, down 8.2% from the ARS 1.121 billion (USD 756,473) collected during the first quarter of the year.
The ISS attributed this decline to general economic conditions, partly brought about by a loss of purchasing power, increased unemployment, and reduced consumption that have dampened discretionary spending in areas normally resistant to economic downturns, like entertainment and gaming.
However, compared to 2024, the 2025 figures have still improved significantly. Last year, quarterly revenues hovered at around ARS 620 million (USD 418,000), which places the current levels substantially higher, even with the recent slowdown.
Casino Provincial Remains Main Contributor
The Casino Provincial remained the top contributor to gaming revenue in the La Pampa Province in Q2, amassing ARS 886.2 million (USD 598,700). Compared to ARS 958.9 million (USD 648,200) in Q1 2025, this is a drop of 7.6%.
ISS analysts say that this drop reflects a stabilization trend after an atypically strong surge at the beginning of the year, driven mostly by the peso’s devaluation, which temporarily inflated the casino’s dollar-indexed concession fees.
Of the total collected in Q2 2025, ARS 584.9 million went to ISS, ARS 152.8 million to the Ministry of Social Development, ARS 97.4 million to the Provincial Education Fund, ARS 45.8 million to the Secretariat of Municipal Affairs, and ARS 5 million to the Tourism Secretariat.
Mixed Performance Across Other Games
The Quini 6, which started strong in 2025, has had a slowdown during this second quarter. It brought in ARS 137.1 million (USD 92,600), a 300% increase year-on-year versus projections of 400%. Despite that, the performance for the game grew from Q1, which saw ARS 119.7 million in revenue.
Month by month, Quini 6 saw the collection of ARS 48.1 million in April, ARS 42.9 million in May, and ARS 46 million in June, reflecting moderate fluctuations.
Loto revenues in the first quarter of this year reached ARS 50.9 million (USD 34,418), versus ARS 43 million in Q1. Of that amount, ARS 24.4 million was transferred to the Ministry of Social Development and ARS 10.1 million to the Provincial Education Fund. On the other hand, Telekino increased slightly and totaled ARS 3.4 million in the period.
A Positive Outlook Despite Short-Term Decline
In all, the provincial gaming activities in Argentina contributed ARS 92 million (USD 62,200) less than in the previous quarter. Yet, the first half of 2025 stays in a very promising position: with a cumulative collection of ARS 2.15 billion (USD 1.4 million) between January and June, it doubled the amount collected during the same period in 2024. While the decline in Q2 evidences that the Argentinian economic slowdown has affected gaming revenues, the La Pampa area seems to have remained resilient. Consistent performance across several gaming categories, coupled with the province’s transparency regarding disbursement of funds, indicates that the gaming business in La Pampa remains one of the strong fiscal contributors even against the turbulence experienced at the national level.
