Kalshi is expanding its political offering ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, betting that many people are interested in election forecasting even if they never place a trade.
The prediction market platform has launched a dedicated Midterms Hub, a new section designed to track how traders expect key Senate and House races to unfold. Instead of focusing solely on buying and selling event contracts, the page brings together live market odds, polling averages, campaign fundraising figures, and election reporting in one place.
At the center of the hub is an interactive map showing the latest probabilities assigned to individual congressional races. Visitors can compare market expectations with public opinion surveys while also reviewing recent Federal Election Commission fundraising data for candidates.
The move reflects a pattern Kalshi says has already emerged on its platform. Roughly three out of every four visitors use the site simply to monitor prediction markets rather than participate in them, suggesting demand extends beyond active traders and into a broader audience looking for alternative election indicators.
Kalshi maintains that prediction markets offer a different way to interpret political momentum because participants back their expectations with real money. Chief executive and co-founder Tarek Mansour argued that financial incentives help reduce partisan distortion, presenting market prices as a collective assessment rather than a reflection of political messaging.
Political Markets Become a Bigger Focus
The Midterms Hub is the latest step in Kalshi’s push to make political prediction markets a larger part of its business before November’s elections.
Earlier this year, the company introduced the American Power Index, a political tracking tool intended to measure which party appears to be gaining or losing strength over time. The new election hub builds on that strategy by making political market data easier to follow without requiring users to enter the markets themselves.
Interest in election contracts has already begun to build. More than $30 million has been traded on contracts tied to which party will control the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate after the 2026 midterm elections.
That activity echoes what happened during the 2024 presidential race, when prediction markets experienced a surge in trading volume as investors and political observers increasingly turned to market-based forecasts alongside traditional polling.
Whether visitors come to trade or simply to watch, Kalshi is positioning its platform as an information destination as much as a marketplace. With the campaign season gathering pace, election odds are becoming content in their own right, and the company appears determined to serve both audiences at once.
