Indonesia’s Communication and Digital Affairs Ministry reported a large-scale crackdown on harmful digital content in recent times, with over three million negative pieces of content dealt with between October 2024 and October 2025. A major chunk of it—over two-thirds—is attributed to online gambling, which is a complex and top-priority problem for authorities. Scope of the Digital Cleanup
A total of 3,053,984 harmful contents have been handled during the one-year timeframe, of which include 2,377,283 gambling contents and 612,618 pornographic materials, with 8,517 of the latter containing child porn.
