Hong Kong Jockey Club appoints Mr Casper Stylsvig as Executive Director, Sports Business

10th October 2025 – Hong Kong – The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) announced today the appointment of Mr Casper Stylsvig as Executive Director, Sports Business (EDSB), effective 15 January 2026.

In his new role, Mr Stylsvig will join the Club’s Board of Management and report directly to Chief Executive Officer, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges. He will oversee the Club’s sports business portfolio, driving commercial growth across horse racing, football, lottery and emerging sporting opportunities.

As EDSB, Mr Stylsvig will focus on expanding both non-wagering and wagering-related income streams. His responsibilities will include commercializing the Club’s current assets, creating new revenue channels through sponsorships and partnerships, and leading strategic marketing initiatives to attract and retain diverse customer segments. He will head the multi-billion-dollar Racecourse Master Plan, spearhead global growth ventures, and manage the sports wagering portfolio to channel demand for community benefit. A key part of his mandate will be developing Hong Kong racing as a global sports brand and transforming the Club’s sports business in collaboration with the wider management team.

Mr Stylsvig brings extensive international leadership experience from some of the world’s most prestigious football clubs. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at Chelsea FC, where he restructured commercial operations, launched a five-year strategic plan, and delivered strong revenue growth across multiple areas. His earlier senior roles at FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Fulham FC and AC Milan saw him secure landmark partnerships, drive digital transformation, and lead commercial turnarounds that reinforced these clubs’ positions as global brands.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Stylsvig said:

“It’s an incredible honour to join The Hong Kong Jockey Club at such an exciting time in its evolution. The Club stands among the world’s most respected sports organisations, combining commercial excellence with a deep social purpose. This role represents a natural progressive next step in my career — bringing together best practices from global football to help shape the future of a truly unique, multi-sport business. I’m looking forward to working with Winfried and the team to drive innovation, expand our international footprint, and create world-class experiences for customers and fans in Hong Kong and beyond.”

Mr Stylsvig holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Esade Business School Barcelona and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Hertfordshire.
