The National Lottery of Guinea (LONAGUI) is undergoing a massive transformation by modernizing its operations by integrating AI and cybersecurity measures to enhance player protection.
This shift follows insights gained from a recent seminar hosted by the African Lotteries Association (ALA) in Côte d’Ivoire, which focused on the need for secure, transparent, and responsible gaming practices.
At the seminar, leaders from Africa’s lottery sector and technology experts gathered to discuss the pressing challenges in modern gaming. They explored various topics, including AI-driven fraud detection and the growing threats posed by cybersecurity issues.
Improving internal processes
A delegation from LONAGUI, led by Managing Director Mohamed Baba Syllab and accompanied by key Marketing and IT staff, recently participated in a seminar that showcased the company’s dedication to embracing best practices in AI and cybersecurity.
“At LONAGUI, we are committed to modernising our operations while safeguarding the trust of our players and partners. This seminar was an opportunity to exchange experiences, enrich our strategic thinking and reinforce our commitment to responsible and secure gaming,” Sylla stated.
The seminar served as a valuable forum for addressing shared challenges in the industry. Participants discussed the use of AI for fraud detection, risk management, and predictive analysis, emphasizing how essential cybersecurity is for maintaining player trust.
They also highlighted the importance of complying with regulatory and ethical data standards, along with the need for ongoing staff training to keep up with rapidly advancing technologies. These discussions directly reflect LONAGUI’s strategic goals.
Digital transformation ‘no longer optional’
During the seminar, experts stressed that for lotteries aiming for sustainable growth, digital transformation is essential. LONAGUI recognizes this need and is determined to solidify its leadership in Guinea’s lottery market by demonstrating that innovation and security are interconnected.
As LONAGUI looks forward, it plans to implement the strategies and insights gained from the event in Abidjan. By ethically deploying AI tools and ensuring they are closely monitored, the lottery aims to enhance user experience, identify irregularities, manage risks, and facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
With these forward-thinking initiatives, LONAGUI is at the forefront of Guinea’s digital lottery transformation, setting benchmarks for security, transparency, and responsible gaming. The recent GNF1.64bn (€140,000) jackpot showcased the lottery’s commitment to transparency and its role in supporting national development.
