The Georgia Lottery Corporation has begun work on its plan to modernize its lottery system by rolling out Scientific Games’ SCiQ retail technology across 1,500 locations statewide. This move enhances how instant scratch games are sold and managed, making the purchasing process smoother and more efficient for players.
The Lottery is also aiming to boost operational efficiency for retailers, with the launch building on a long-standing partnership with Scientific Games. This began in 1993 and has already seen the introduction of notable features like the Lottery’s first scratch game and its first second-chance promotion, with both parties harboring plans for a loyalty program.

“SCiQ brings a modern retail presence to our instant games, helps our retailers operate more efficiently and ultimately supports our mission to maximize revenues for the HOPE Scholarship and Georgia Pre-K program.”
SCiQ to Provide a Host of Features
SCiQ, recognized as a Gold Winner in the 2025 American Business Awards for Operations Management Solution and a Bronze Winner in the 2025 International Business Awards for Achievement in Product Innovation, is set to roll out across a variety of Georgia Lottery retail locations, including both large chains and independent shops.
One of the standout features of SCiQ is its real-time inventory tracking, which has been shown to minimize out-of-stocks and boost product sales. Retailers will also benefit from advanced sales analytics, enabling them to refine their sales strategies and make informed decisions.
The system offers user-friendly reporting tools designed to save operational time and deliver valuable management insights.
In addition, dynamic digital menu boards will enhance the in-store experience by promoting products and providing players with up-to-date information. Lastly, game dispensing bins will secure products, reduce theft, and allow for ticket-by-ticket tracking.

Georgia Lottery Continues to Grow
The Georgia Lottery has established itself as a leader in the industry, currently running second in the world for scratch game sales per capita, as noted in La Fleur’s 2025 World Almanac.
Since its inception, the Lottery has participated in the Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership (SGEP) program, which has provided vital support in areas like instant game design, portfolio management, and data analytics.
This collaboration has proven beneficial, as evidenced by a reported 31% improvement in performance for U.S. partners during fiscal year 2023-24.
Scientific Games, the world’s largest lottery games company, supports over 150 lotteries across 50 countries. Recently, it has expanded its international reach, securing a supplier license in the UAE, which further solidifies its position as the fastest-growing lottery systems provider in North America.
