Philippine online gaming operator DigiPlus Interactive Corporation has entered into an exclusive partnership with bill payment provider Bayad to broaden physical payment options available to players on DigiPlus’ platforms. This step intends to make over-the-counter (OTC) cash-in transactions easier, serving clients who want to use traditional payment systems in addition to digital options.
DigiPlus manages several online gaming websites, such as BingoPlus, an online bingo site licensed by the government, ArenaPlus for sportsbooks, and GameZone, a casual and arcade game site. The recent agreement, signed on Wednesday, designates DigiPlus as the sole gaming partner for Bayad’s OTC cash transactions, providing greater convenience for players across the country.
Wide Network Access and Future Payment Features
Bayad, a licensed electronic money issuer by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, has a wide reach with more than 800 company-owned branches and authorized partner outlets in malls, supermarkets, and convenience stores across the country. DigiPlus users can now deposit cash through these access points, a development anticipated to increase accessibility among its growing player base.
Future enhancements to the partnership plan to introduce cash-out or withdrawal services and integrate Bayad’s mobile application to facilitate easier fund management. These phases will further empower DigiPlus customers with more control and secure options for handling transactions.
Emphasis on Player Protection and Reliable Service
Eusebio Tanco, DigiPlus chairman, underscored that the company’s main concern is to present engaging online entertainment with the assurance of customer safety and service reliability. He portrayed the tie-up with Bayad as a vital move to offer safe, hassle-free transaction modes and enhance the firm’s assurance on player protection.
Ray Espinosa, Bayad’s board chairman, also emphasized the partnership as furthering the growth of digital payment access. He mentioned the partnership promotes inclusive financial services alongside providing Filipinos with a responsible and friendly channel to experience digital entertainment.
Industry Context and Regulatory Environment
DigiPlus is one of a few Filipino online gambling operators to come together recently to form the PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines, with the objective of maintaining high industry standards and encouraging responsible gaming practices.
The firm’s expansion into alternative payment channels is made against the backdrop of continued legislative debate in the Philippine Senate over regulating online gambling, where authorities have directed electronic wallet providers to cut ties with gambling sites, which is an indication of increased regulatory attentiveness.
Plans of Overseas Expansion
Outside of the home market, DigiPlus is continuously expanding internationally. The group has submitted numerous license applications to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in South Africa and opened its first international brand, GamePlus, in Brazil in September 2025. It is set to bring BingoPlus to Brazil in 2026, a strategic expansion into new territories.
