DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has joined the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming, or IBJR, as it continues to build out its presence in the country under the BingoPlus brand. The move places the Philippine digital entertainment company inside an association whose members account for more than 60% of Brazil’s regulated betting market.
Membership Supports Compliance Focus
According to the announcement, DigiPlus will take part in the group’s work to promote responsible gaming, strengthen regulatory compliance, and combat illegal betting. Membership connects the firm to an industry organization whose key focus is player protection and opposition to the unregulated market.
Carlos Lima, CEO of IBJR, says the membership demonstrates maturity in the industry and their dedication to regulation. He also noted that player protection would still remain the key priority of the organization alongside their strong opposition to the unregulated market.
DigiPlus said the move also reflects its own expansion plans in Brazil. Graham Tidey, managing director of DigiPlus in Brazil, said joining the IBJR mirrors the company’s growth in the market, where it already operates the BingoPlus brand and continues to invest.
Tidey said the company would draw on more than 25 years of entertainment industry experience, together with its digital expansion in the Philippines, as it works to grow in Brazil in a responsible manner and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
IBJR’s Role In The Market
Established in 2023, IBJR brings together local and foreign betting firms and centers its operations around two core concerns: the underground market and responsible gambling. Among the current members of IBJR include bet365, BetMGM, Betsson Group, Entain, Flutter Brazil, Kaizen Gaming, and KTO Group.
The association’s membership base gives the announcement added significance, with more than 60% of Brazil’s regulated betting market represented among its members. DigiPlus’ inclusion places it within a group that is closely tied to the direction of the country’s regulated betting sector.
The company’s entry comes as it continues to invest in Brazil through BingoPlus. The announcement did not mention any other product beyond that brand, indicating that the company’s public focus in the market remains centered on BingoPlus for now.
GamePlus Update Remains Absent
The IBJR release referred only to BingoPlus operating in Brazil and did not provide any update on the status of GamePlus. DigiPlus paused that platform on October 10, 2025, 3 weeks after its soft launch began.
Back then, the firm characterized the experiment as a live classroom where they could gain greater insights into local players’ behavior and culture. As per DigiPlus, their results would be instrumental in helping them design an even more localized game, with a full-fledged launch scheduled for early 2026.
The latest announcement makes no reference to that relaunch or to any new timeline for GamePlus. For now, the company’s disclosed Brazilian activity is linked to BingoPlus and its new role in the IBJR.
Wider Market Position
DigiPlus’ membership in the IBJR adds another layer to its international expansion strategy while tying the company more closely to Brazil’s responsible gaming framework. The association’s emphasis on regulation and player protection fits the positioning DigiPlus described for its own local push.
With the company already active in the market through BingoPlus and now aligned with a major industry body, the latest move gives its Brazil expansion a more formal industry context. The announcement also signals that DigiPlus intends to keep its growth in the country tied to compliance and responsible gaming standards.
