DigiPlus Earnings Slide in 4Q25 as Rules Hit Online Play

DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the country’s biggest online gaming operator, closed 4Q25 with lower numbers as new regulations disrupted how players access its platforms. In its report to the Philippine Stock Exchange, the company said revenue for the quarter fell to PHP17.3 billion ($289.3 million), down 27% from PHP23.7 billion ($369.3 million) in the same period in 2024. Net income slid 36% year-on-year to PHP2.5 billion ($41.8 million), while EBITDA dropped 32% to PHP3.1 billion ($51.84 million).

The decline was primarily due to the regulations the company was required to implement in the third quarter of the year, which required the unlinking of e-wallet in-app access from licensed online gaming sites. This resulted in a slowdown in the operations of the company as players adjusted to the new ways of funding and accessing the gaming sites. However, the fourth quarter ended with improved numbers from the third quarter as the company reported improved net income by 43 percent from PHP1.7 billion ($28.43 million) and improved EBITDA by 52 percent from PHP2 billion ($33.44 million) as the company tightened its cost management and made operational adjustments.

Full-Year Results Hold Up Despite Headwinds

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. manages to maintain its profitability as the company reported net income of PHP12.6 billion ($210.7 million) as the company ended the year with improved numbers from the fourth quarter, as the regulations took effect. The company reported total revenue of PHP84.2 billion ($1.4 billion) in 2025, up by 12 percent from the previous year’s total revenue of PHP75 billion ($1.24 billion). The company reported improved performance in the first half of the year before the regulations took effect. The company also reported improved full-year EBITDA of PHP14.2 billion ($237.4 million), up by 2 percent from PHP13.9 billion ($232.4 million) in 2024.

Chairman Tanco explained that the quarterly and yearly performance reflect the company’s capacity to cope with changing regulations and increased competition in the sector. Chairman Tanco also expressed optimism regarding the outlook in the upcoming year as the company reported resilient performance in the face of the fast-changing and challenging environment in the sector.

Dividends Steady, Balance Sheet Solid

DigiPlus has announced that it is once again going to share some of its profits with its shareholders, as the company is declaring its third straight year of paying dividends. The company also announced the declaration of its quarterly cash dividend of PHP3.8 billion, or 30% of its full-year net income. Each shareholder as of April 1, 2026, or on or before April 15, 2026, shall be eligible to receive the dividend payout of PHP0.83 per share.

As 2025 closed, the company had PHP 23.4 billion in cash and cash equivalents, giving the company a comfortable liquidity position. The company’s debt is at a modest PHP 745.8 million, giving the company’s balance sheet flexibility to pursue future investment opportunities even after the payment of the dividend.

Bridging Online and Brick-and-Mortar Gaming

Besides the online business, DigiPlus is also aimed at creating a foothold in the land-based gaming business. The company is pursuing expansion through a subscription to convertible notes issued by International Entertainment Corp. This investment gives DigiPlus the option to acquire a 53.89% stake in the Hong Kong-listed firm, which owns and operates the New Coast Hotel Manila integrated resort complex in the capital.

The planned stake gives DigiPlus a physical platform that can complement its online ecosystem and deepen customer engagement across both channels. Since November last year, the company has already been operating the online gaming platform of New Coast Hotel Manila, with no rebrand planned according to earlier disclosures. Taken together, the land-based option and the steady digital earnings position DigiPlus to keep playing a major role in the Philippine gaming landscape, even as regulations and competition continue to evolve.
