Last Thursday (Jan 29), the Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) issued a public warning about several gambling websites using the name “GEM55.”
The regulator made it clear that these platforms are not licensed and have no authorization to operate under its supervision. Despite this, the sites have displayed the CGA logo and copied details of its Digital Authorisation Seal in an attempt to mislead players.
The Authority explained that a genuine seal appears as a green box with the letters s “CGA” in white. When clicked, it directs users to the official licence certificate hosted on cert.cga.cw, a domain owned and managed by the regulator itself.
The GEM55 sites do not provide this link, instead using the seal unlawfully to create the impression of being legit.
Domains identified in the warning include gem55.net, gem55.org, gem55rocks.com, playgem55.com, and gem55my.com. The CGA strongly advised players to avoid these websites entirely and not to share personal or financial information with them.
The regulator reminded the public that the safest way to confirm whether an operator is licensed is by checking the official registry available on its website.
