Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brightstar Lottery PLC, and Scientific Games have announced the establishment of a new company, SP Loterias SPE SA (SPL), after entering into a 15-year concession agreement with the Government of the State of São Paulo. The concession agreement grants a state license to SPL for the operation of a newly established lottery in São Paulo State, which is a historic moment in the Brazilian lottery industry, one of the largest in Latin America.
In terms of the concession, SPL is tasked with operating an assortment of lottery games, including drawing-based games, instant lottery games, e-Instant games, and passive lottery games, across both retail and digital platforms. The project is expected not only to provide entertainment to gamblers in São Paulo but also to provide a lucrative revenue stream for investments in public health within São Paulo.

The joint venture will combine the technological expertise and operational capabilities of both companies to create a seamless, integrated lottery ecosystem.
