Asia Pioneer Entertainment Holdings Ltd (APE) has broadened its business offering after signing a distribution agreement with Germany-based CountR GmbH, adding automated cash-handling products to its portfolio across Asian markets. The Hong Kong-listed company said the move gives it distribution rights for CountR’s payment automation and cash-handling technology, which is used in gaming, banking and retail sectors.
New Cash-Handling Line
According to the company’s Tuesday press release, the agreement adds cash management systems to APE’s existing gaming portfolio. The update said the kiosks have already been proven in global markets and are designed to let players redeem credits from tickets, chips and cash more quickly, with Southeast Asia planned as part of the rollout.
APE said the systems are intended to give operators a more efficient and streamlined way to manage cash operations. CountR, meanwhile, is said to have more than 20 years of experience and over 10,000 machines deployed worldwide across casino resorts, cruise ships and gaming floors.
Management Comments
APE executive director and sales director Maria Garcia said the company was honoured and excited to act as CountR’s distributor across Asia. She described CountR as a widely recognised provider of versatile, innovative and reliable payment solutions in global markets.
Garcia also said the partnership, together with APE’s existing product range, would allow the company to offer a broader set of products and services covering most casino operational needs. CountR regional sales manager Tamara Sawyer said in prepared remarks that the partnership opens the door to Asia’s fast-growing casino market and creates new opportunities for growth.
Wider Business Shift
The deal comes after APE’s recent launch of BEE Macau, which the company described as Macau’s first local playing card manufacturing facility. APE said both developments form part of a wider strategy to build a more comprehensive product offering for casino operators.
The company said its business portfolio now includes electronic gaming equipment such as slot machines and electronic table games, table game products including playing cards, dealing shoes and smart trend boards, as well as cash management systems through the CountR partnership. APE added that the broader product mix should help it serve both large-scale casino resort operators and smaller gaming venues.
Repositioning The Model
Herman Ng, APE’s chief executive and executive director, said the company is repositioning its business model. He said APE is shifting from being mainly a supplier of electronic gaming equipment to providing comprehensive gaming operation solutions.
Ng added that the new model is centered on integration, cost efficiency and flexibility, allowing the company to serve both large integrated resort casinos and smaller niche casino floors effectively. The latest agreement with CountR extends that repositioning effort by giving APE a wider set of tools to present to casino customers across Asia.
