Associação Nacional de Jogos e Loterias (ANJL) announced that it has welcomed four new members into its fold: TransferSmile, Hiper Bet Tecnologia, SorteNaBet Gaming Brasil, and Versus Brasil. The association now boasts 26 companies with the latest additions, solidifying its role as a driving force in Brazil’s burgeoning betting and payment services sector.
A Strategic Time for Industry Consolidation
The growth of ANJL membership is timely for the betting industry in Brazil, which is in the process of being regulated and institutionalized at a fast pace. For President of ANJL Plínio Lemos Jorge, the timing is strategic: “We are going to have different crucial policy discussions, and the sector’s unity is paramount for fruitful dialogue with the authorities. These new partnerships give us the strength to negotiate a safe, responsible, and sustainable betting environment.”
This expansion represents a broader effort to professionalize the market and to make the association a legitimate voice in ongoing regulatory and legislative debates. ANJL has been an active participant in advocating for transparent operating models, responsible gaming, and enforcement of sector norms.
Who’s Part of ANJL Today?
Along with the four newest additions, ANJL has a diverse range of companies from across the betting and fintech world. Those already signed up include heavyweights like NSX Brasil, Big Brazil e Loteria, Aposta Ganha Loterias, and Fast Gaming. The association is also host to the likes of OiG Gaming Brazil, Ana Gaming Brasil, Esportes Gaming Brasil, SPRBT Interactive Brasil, Defy, LBBR, Lucky Gaming, Reals Brasil, Gamewiz Brasil, and Clear Sale.
Besides these, the membership list has payment solutions and technology companies: Paag, Pocket Games, Propane, Astro, Zero Instituição de Pagamento, Microcash, Betbr, and Pagstar. The fact that there is this diversity of companies testifies to the multi-dimensionality of the betting business in Brazil, as gaming operators have to integrate more with digital finance and compliance systems.
An Expanding Industry Underpinned by Government Licensing
There are 79 fixed-odds betting operators that have so far been licensed by the Brazilian government. The cumulative investment in license fees by the operators is around R$ 2.4 billion. This scale of investment reflects confidence in the long-term prospects of the sector, particularly after the latest regulatory reforms that have provided operational clarity and tax certainty for operators.
Going forward, the government predicts that social and tax revenues from the betting industry will exceed R$ 4 billion in 2025. These funds are to be used for the funding of public policy projects in the federal, state, and municipal governments, securing the industry’s role as a source of public funding.
