The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) Index inched upward by 0.6% month-on-month in October, showing modest progress despite a mixed performance among listed companies.
Compared to the same period last year, however, the index remains significantly stronger, up 27.6% year-on-year.
Konami and Agilysys lift the index
Just two companies managed to post gains strong enough to offset wider losses.
The standout performer was Konami Corp, which saw its stock climb 20.6%, adding 106.09 points to the index. AGEM attributed the growth to the company’s latest earnings report, which revealed that revenue for the first half of its fiscal year rose 22.1% compared with 2024.
Agilysys also posted gains, with its share price increasing 19.2%, contributing an additional 19.97 points.
Aristocrat’s decline weighs on results
Losses from other gaming giants kept overall growth subdued.
The biggest drag on the index came from Aristocrat Leisure, whose stock fell 9.6%, cutting 79.52 points from the AGEM Index. In total, only two of the ten companies in the index recorded stock price increases, while the remaining eight posted declines.
Despite the limited movement, analysts view the results as a sign of steady resilience within the gaming manufacturing sector, which continues to adapt to shifting global market conditions.
Broader market trends
The gaming sector’s performance mirrors moderate gains across US markets.
During October, all three major US stock indices posted growth for the third straight month. The NASDAQ rose 4.7%, the S&P 500 gained 2.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 2.5% compared to September.
Although the AGEM Index showed only marginal improvement, its year-on-year growth of nearly 28% underlines a broader recovery trend in gaming technology and equipment manufacturing.
As the year approaches its final quarter, one question remains: will this slow and steady climb continue into 2026, or is the sector due for a stronger rebound?
