Australia’s media regulator has expanded its crackdown on unlicensed online gambling, requesting internet service providers (ISPs) to block another 12 illegal operators at the DNS level.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) said the action followed investigations that found the sites were operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
The newly blocked websites are:

Website blocking remains one of ACMA’s key enforcement tools aimed at limiting Australians’ access to offshore gambling services that operate without local authorisation.
Since the regulator issued its first blocking request in November 2019, a total of 1,455 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked across Australia. In addition, around 220 illegal operators have withdrawn from the Australian market since ACMA began enforcing stricter online gambling rules in 2017.
ACMA continues to warn consumers that illegal gambling sites often lack basic customer protections, even when they appear professional or legitimate. Players using unlicensed services may have little or no recourse if disputes arise, and risk losing funds with no consumer safeguards in place.
The latest action shows that ACMA remains committed to targeting offshore operators, although DNS blocking is widely viewed as an imperfect tool. The method can be easily bypassed, and many operators mitigate enforcement by running multiple brands.
